Often paid by the employee, voluntary benefits provide valuable protection without adding to the bottom line.
Voluntary benefits help the employees fill in health insurance gaps and deductibles. As a result, they better protect themselves from financial hardship in the event of an accident or illness. This policy is intended to help offset unexpected expenses after a fracture, dislocation, or another covered accidental injury. Accident insurance can usually be used for initial care or surgery, transportation, lodging, and follow-up care.
This product is offered as a complement to medical insurance and is intended to offset other unexpected expenses, like childcare, loss of income, deductibles, co-pays, and lodging. Some plans can also cover certain cancer screening tests.
This policy replaces a portion of an employee’s income if he or she becomes disabled from a covered accident or sickness. Most insurance carriers let the employer select a benefits period and offer an on/off-job plan.
